Our story
Our steam pods are lined with lava stones sourced from the Dekiyamakouzan volcanic mountain in Japan's Aichi region — a mineral-rich site whose distinctive stones (known locally as "708") have been prized for generations.
It's what makes us Houston's only lava-stone steam spa — and why a session here feels different from an ordinary sauna.
How the lava tourmaline formed
The tourmaline in our stones began as mineral-rich mud thousands of meters below sea level. Over millions of years, volcanic activity and immense pressure compressed and transformed it into hard, crystalline tourmaline.
That slow, natural process is why the stones carry the far-infrared warmth and mineral character that define a lava-stone steam session.
